“It’s Not You. It’s Me: A Rooftop Happy Hour & Night of Connection”

Relationships are key — in the office, in the neighborhoods, and deep within ourselves.
Second Glance Productions presents “It’s Not You. It’s Me: A Rooftop Happy Hour & Night of Connection,” an immersive evening of professional speed-connecting, conversation, and award-winning entertainment.
Co-hosted by the Center on Halsted and AIDS Foundation Chicago, join us for a night curated around one simple idea: the best opportunities rarely begin with an interview, and the best date or chill night doesn’t always start with a swipe. Sometimes they start with an honest conversation.
Enjoy an evening of bites, access to tangible resources provided by Chicago health partners, and a low-stakes evening of professional, personal, and chill connection time with us. Whether business or pleasure, bring whatever version of yourself that’s looking for an evening full of honest conversations, soul-cleansing laughter, and even a few cathartic rants, reminding us that none of us are navigating this alone.
DOORS OPEN: 6:00p
Connection Over Competition Hour: Bring your résumé, your story, or just yourself.
TIME: 6:30 – 7:15p
Whether you’re hiring for the next opportunity, a candidate looking to skip awkward networking, or simply a soul needing a recharge from either, come meet talented people beyond the bullet points and discover the kind of brilliance that doesn’t always fit neatly on a CV.
Not your typical “networking event,” experience professional speed-connecting designed for meaningful conversations and genuine alignment with the people behind the résumés. Share ideas, swap stories, vent a little, laugh a lot, collaborate, and maybe even leave feeling a little more hopeful than when you arrived.
Come for the connections. Stay for the chemistry and convos. Leave with new perspectives and relationships that just might change everything.
After all, your next opportunity might not come from schmoozing the room—it might just come from that unexpected person standing across it.
“It’s Not You. It’s the Algorithm”: Holding On in the Interim
TIME: 7:30 – 8:15p
Hosted by the award-winning “Twin Spin” podcast duo hosts — Andrew & Andrian Nuño — kick off the evening with a candle side chat with Anthony L. Williams and Prem Pahwa — Creator and Cast Member of the award-winning docuseries, It’s Not You. It’s Me: Chicago — as they discuss the new dating and mental health docuseries, the job market impacts within the LGBTQ and BIPOC communities, and the importance of building meaningful relationships, all while working to stay sane in the process.
It’s Not You. It’s Me: Chicago SCREENING
TIME: 8:30 – 9:30pm
As the sun goes down, bask in the cool indoors, or bring your own picnic party to enjoy a rooftop terrace screening under the stars (while space lasts) of the multi award-winning dating, relationship, and mental health docuseries, IT’S NOT YOU. IT’S ME: CHICAGO!
Winner of the “Silver Telly Award in Mental Health,” the “Best Unscripted Indie TV Series,” “Best TV Series,” and “Best Feature Film” awards, IT’S NOT YOU. IT’S ME: CHICAGO follows three bachelors who re-embark into the dating scene — some for their first time, and others hopefully for their last! While receiving expert guidance on healthy relationships, sex, and vulnerability, the niches and experiences of modern queer dating will be tossed aside as our Bachelors find themselves in the midst of personal growth while attending individual and group mental health therapy sessions. Along their journeys of receiving clinical coaching and support, they’ll also receive tools to help unpack baggage and trauma from previous relationships so that they don’t take them into the new ones they’re starting to build.
