Gerber/Hart 45th Anniversary Gala
On September 24, 2026, Gerber/Hart Library and Archives will host The Sapphire Gayla: 45 Years of Gerber/Hart at the gorgeous Rockwell on the River to raise money in support of its mission to preserve the history of LGBTQ+ History in Chicago and the Midwest, and make it accessible to all.
A special 6:00 PM VIP gathering and whiskey tasting is available.
We are in the process of securing hosts, speakers, and entertainers, and are excited to share that information as it becomes available. It is sure to be a fabulous party and networking event.
For 45 years, Gerber/Hart has preserved LGBTQ+ history, and made it available for both casual readership and academic scholarship. The Archives are unparalleled in the Midwest in content and scope, and the circulating collection includes thousands of titles from the past through the most current novels and non-fiction books – all available for free to the public.
