73rd Annual Chicago Powwow
The American Indian Center presents the 73rd Annual Chicago Powwow on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Schiller Woods East, Grove 13. Gates open at 10 a.m., with Grand Entries at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The official event page names Skud Nation of Menominee as host drum and notes that invited drums only will participate.
This intertribal gathering continues a Chicago tradition that began in 1953 and centers Native dance, drumming, artists, makers and community. Adult admission is $15 in advance or $20 at the gate; youth ages 6–17 and elders 55+ are $5, while veterans and children 5 and under are free. Enter from Irving Park Road west of Cumberland Avenue and follow powwow signs to Grove 13; parking is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
