David Cerda’s Scary Town

Hell in a Handbag Productions is pleased to continue its 2024/25 Season with the world premiere of Scary Town,  a semi-autobiographical tale of a little brown bunny that uncovers a secret that rocks his world, by Artistic Director David Cerda and directed by Cheryl Snodgrass.

Merry Town is the happiest town where all the animals live in harmony and wear cute outfits. Deven Bunny has always believed this because that’s what he was told- but the discovery of a family secret changes Deven’s world. Scary Town combines  beloved illustrated story books, melodrama, and a touch of David Lynch resulting in a tale filled with Cerda’s signature dark humor and poignancy. Scary Town is an adult children’s play about growing up in a lie and living not so happily ever after.
