About the Exhibition
The current political crisis is an irrevocable catalyst for forging new conceptions of national identity, particularly amongst those whose increasing marginalization is used to sustain a growing autocratic force.

Right to Assemble grounds this work in intergenerational LGBTQ+ aesthetics through an unpacking and evolving of the ever-changing Pride Flag. We aim to mobilize this exhibition as a method of dialogue, using selected textile works to explore what it means to gather, define ourselves, and envision a new world.

Quilts and flags, both fabric assemblages, symbolize the coming together of minds and bodies, whether within a community or a nation. As you engage with the space, we hope you will reflect with one another on your vision for the future of this country and the methods necessary to achieve it.
