Other People’s Bodies

Queer Expression Film Festival presents the Chicago premiere of a provocative new film by Alan Brown, Other Peopleâs Bodies.
A sultry, queer reimagining of the French classic La Piscine, Other Peopleâs Bodies unfolds over one sweltering summer weekend, where desire, jealousy, and unfinished business refuse to stay buried.
Olivia, a modern dancer, is vacationing with her husband Seb at a secluded country house when their fragile calm is shattered by the sudden arrival of MateoâOliviaâs former best friend and, briefly, Sebâs lover. The three havenât seen each other in eight years, since Mateo abruptly severed ties after a devastating betrayal.
Tensions rise when Mateo brings along his young, magnetic lover Zaki, reopening old wounds and igniting new temptations. Matters escalate further with the arrival of two more figures from the past: Gabriella, a former dance colleague, and her husband FabianâOliviaâs lover before Seb.
As bodies gather and boundaries dissolve, long-simmering passions, regrets, and desires collide, leading to an emotionally charged reckoning in which nothingâand no oneâemerges unchanged.
