DESCRIPTION:Right to Assemble: Opening Reception \nRight to Assemble is an LGBTQ+ soft sculpture and quilt exhibition exploring queer American identity during a moment of crisis. In collaboration with The Center on Addison\, we invite you to engage with quilts and flags\, connect with the Chicago LGBTQ+ community\, and envision the future of the nation together. \nEvent Details\nDate: Saturday\, June 6th\nTime: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM\nLocation: The Center on Addison (Community Space)\nCost: Free admission\nEntry: Please enter on Addison Street \nAbout the Exhibition\nThe current political crisis is an irrevocable catalyst for forging new conceptions of national identity\, particularly amongst those whose increasing marginalization is used to sustain a growing autocratic force. \nRight to Assemble grounds this work in intergenerational LGBTQ+ aesthetics through an unpacking and evolving of the ever-changing Pride Flag. We aim to mobilize this exhibition as a method of dialogue\, using selected textile works to explore what it means to gather\, define ourselves\, and envision a new world. \nQuilts and flags\, both fabric assemblages\, symbolize the coming together of minds and bodies\, whether within a community or a nation. DESCRIPTION:The LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogue Project is proud to present our 2025 annual spring exhibition: Resisting Erasure. \nJoin us on Friday\, April 25th from 6:00-8:00 PM at Center on Addison (806 W. Addison). \nThe event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. \nThe Center on Addison is fully ADA accessible. All are welcome! \nThe exhibition will be open through May 5th. \nSaturday 4/26 9am-2:30 \nTuesday 4/29 9am-2:30 \nThursday 5/1 9 am-2:30 \nSaturday 5/3 9am-2:30. \nMembers of the LGBTQ+ Dialogue Project will be touring the show and the space through the week.
