An additional beneficiary of Dance for Life is AIDS Foundation Chicago. \nFor this special anniversary performance\, the lineup includes prominent Chicago dance companies and celebrated Chicago choreographers: Ballet 5:8\, Chicago Dance Crash\, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater\, Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater\, Giordano Dance Chicago\, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago\, The Joffrey Ballet\, Robyn Mineko Williams and Artists\, Trinity Irish Dance Company\, and Visceral Dance Chicago. This is the first of a two part awareness outreach – this one focusing on how diversity is natural…and the science shows this to be true. Drew will be open to questions via zoom after the screening. The second one will focus on understanding as well as addressing our current political moment from a place of solidarity for transgender persons respecting every person’s freedom to be themselves wherever they are on the sex and gender continuum. Also by hosting the show at a coffee house we are responding to our community asking for more sober-friendly spaces to find new connections. Annnd\, we will be supporting a Latina and queer owned business! The owners will be brewing up free tea and coffee just for our show!

DESCRIPTION:“Everything you didn’t learn in high school biology” is the tagline of Drew Denny’s film “Second Nature-” narrated by Oscar winning actor Elliot Page. We are proud to present the first Chicago Screening of this important film dispelling the gender and sexual binary narrative force fed to us in our society\, as well as illuminating the natural fluidity of both found throughout life on this planet. This is the first of a two part awareness outreach – this one focusing on how diversity is natural…and the science shows this to be true. Drew will be open to questions via zoom after the screening. The second one will focus on understanding as well as addressing our current political moment from a place of solidarity for transgender persons respecting every person’s freedom to be themselves wherever they are on the sex and gender continuum. We are all on it and all affected.
