DESCRIPTION:Runs through March 29\, 2026 \nFor this iteration of the Atrium Project series\, artist\, author\, and activist Edie Fake transforms the two-story lobby wall in the museum’s second floor atrium with his mural The Free Clinic for Gender Affirming Care (2024–25). An imagined facade of a clinic for free transgender healthcare\, the mural offers a majestic counterview to the present reality in the United States\, where transgender and nonbinary people are under constant threat of political repression\, restriction\, and scapegoating. The mural\, with its layered architectural motifs and undulating prismatic colors\, invites visitors into Fake’s utopian vision of access and open expression. \nFollowing his earlier Memory Palace series—examples of which are included in the exhibition City in a Garden: Queer Art and Activism in Chicago\, on view at the MCA from July 5\, 2025\, through May 31\, 2026—wherein Fake reimagined the facades of historic queer and feminist establishments in Chicago\, this work underscores the artist’s shift in focus from the past to the future\, from what was to what could still be. \nAtrium Project: Edie Fake is organized by Jack Schneider\, Assistant Curator.

We’ll be soaking up the sun on the roof of the Salt Shed the first weekends in Spring: March 1\, April 4 and May 3 twirling to all-vinyl R&B\, house\, disco and whatever the funk we want because we’re grown! Tickets are available for all dates and advance purchase is highly recommended\, though there will be a limited number first come\, first served at the door. \nThree Top Lounge is wheelchair accessible. The entrance is on the Elston Avenue side of the Salt Shed\, from where you’ll take the elevator or stairs to the top floor. There is an abundance of lounge seating including chairs and couches. If you’d like reserved seating due to mobility challenges such as disability\, pregnancy\, postpartum\, recovery or any other reason\, please email slomoparty@gmail.com . DESCRIPTION:The Summit was launched by NMAC in 2016 to advance PrEP access for communities most-impacted by HIV. We are the nation’s only convening dedicated to translating complex scientific discoveries and biomedical solutions into effective healthcare delivery for the HIV and public health workforce.  This is the place where science meets action—translating cutting-edge research into real-world strategies for HIV prevention. \nIn its 10th year\, the 2026 Summit is set to expand its focus by addressing HIV from a syndemic\, whole-person perspective and is integrating the broader clinical and public health workforce (see audiences below). As we celebrate a decade of progress\, we’re reimagining what’s possible. This is our moment to embrace a whole-person approach to prevention—because HIV does not exist in isolation\, and neither should our solutions. \nThis year’s theme\, “The Syndemic Approach—Strengthening the HIV and Public Health Workforce” centers the clinical\, community\, and broader public health workforce as key partners in the effort to improve overall health among HIV affected communities and communities with the poorest health outcomes. \nUsing systems thinking\, syndemic and whole-person theory\, and organizational development and management strategies\, the Summit will serve as a training and recruitment hub that strengthens the technical and leadership skills of the clinical\, community\, and public health workforce\, as well as a pipeline to recruit new public and global health professionals.
