SUMMARY:HERE: for the holidays
DESCRIPTION:A fitting show the night before the Midterm Elections— HERE: for the holidays on Monday\, November 2 at 7:30PM at The Newport Theater; an innocently lascivious performance\, intent on sharing the true meaning of the holiday season — gifts\, traditions\, copious food and drink\, and\, of course\, judging people. In between positively polarizing numbers\, you’ll ask yourself those fundamental questions of life\, like\, “When DO ‘the holidays’ begin?” … “Is Election Day a Holiday?”… “Why not?” … “Who’s in charge here?” and “Does Mariah even have a song about voting?” \nHERE: for the holidays is co-created by Ellis Centric and Aunt Nance\, and hosted by Aunt Nance with additional performances by Bazuka Jo\, Diva La Vida\, Goodie Sesso\, Sassy Squire\, Sugar Cane Jane\, and Tila von Twirl. \nGet a little naughty (or a lot!) — with a unique showcase of burlesque\, acrobatics\, clowning\, drag and (optional) caroling. A show that skirts tradition and embraces trees\, all while celebrating the magic of connection\, expression\, and darkness.

She finds the funny in family\, relationships\, getting older\, Latino culture\, and the life experiences that have shaped her unapologetic perspective. She has performed at the Latina Comedy Festival\, Laugh After Dark Comedy Fest\, and Mario Lopez’s “Wey Out Loud\,” carving out a comedic style that is unmistakably her own. Relatable and never afraid to laugh at herself—or anyone else in the room—Nana makes every show feel spontaneous\, personal\, and just a little unpredictable. This fall\, Nana is hitting the road as a featured comedian on Jose Not Juan’s La Mala Tour\, kicking things off with her debut at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank\, California. She’s loud\, Latina\, unfiltered\, and always ready to say what everyone else was thinking. \nShane Anthony is a Detroit born\, Chicago based stand up comedian and producer. In addition to opening for notable names\, she has headlined some of the city’s top clubs and shows. She is also the creator and producer of Uncensored Comedy\, one of the best selling and fastest growing late night shows in the city. She has featured in special tapings from LMAOF Comedy and FourbyThree’s Put It On Tape series. \nLio Cundiff is a Chicago-based comedian known for his bold stage presence\, fresh perspective\, and a storytelling style all his own. In his comedy\, he explores his unique experience as a trans man\, a forced food service industry guy\, and his recent 15 mins of fame (Google him). You can catch him producing mics and shows all over the city\, including Power Hour\, Vibe Check\, and Puff Puff Laugh Comedy. He has also been featured on Comedians You Should Know\, Don’t Tell Comedy\, Laugh Factory\, House of Blues\, and The Den Theater. At the end of the day\, he really is “just a boy.” \nRachel Dispenza is a stand-up comic by night and an artist merch manager\, also by night. What they do during the day is none of your business. They’ve performed all over the US\, opening for headliners including Beth Stelling\, Emma Willmann\, and Myq Kaplan as well as the bands Sleater-Kinney and Mannequin Pussy. They can be seen regularly all over Chicago\, where they live and produce the shows Nervous Laughter and Could Be Fun. \nThe comedian producers of the Bi Wives Club are three bi wives (not to each other) who perform\, celebrate\, and promote joke-dense\, authentic comedy. KRIS LANTZY is a queer comic and hot mom tackling alllll ‘the issues’ through her playful comedic lens\, like what to do when everyone thinks your wife is your sister? CHRISTEN MANVILLE has an unmatched ability to inhabit discordant perspectives with ease. She is the ideal date for an X-rated experimental puppet show and your grandmother’s 80th birthday party. KAYLA MCCAFFREY is an actor\, comedian\, and improvisor as well as a newlywed wife\, inner child nurturer\, and vegan dog mom. Kayla jumps between her too-many roles with ease and throws her whole heart into everything she does.

SUMMARY:The Capulets
DESCRIPTION:Following its gripping world premiere in 2025\, Chicago Repertory Ballet proudly brings back The Capulets for a limited return engagement this November.\nConceived and choreographed by Wade Schaaf\, this cinematic\, full-length ballet shifts the spotlight from the star-crossed lovers to the heart of the Capulet household itself—where hidden passions\, betrayals\, and fractures simmer just beneath the surface of Verona’s most powerful family. \nSet to an evocative original score by Matty Mattsson and brought to life through immersive projection design by SPAN Design\, the production centers on Lady Capulet — trapped between duty and desire — as her secret relationship with Tybalt threatens to unravel everything her family has built. Against a backdrop of violence\, ambition\, and mounting tension\, The Capulets delivers an emotionally charged experience unlike any traditional telling of the classic tragedy. \nLocation: The Ruth Page Center for the Arts \nThursday\, Nov 5 – 7:30 PM\nFriday\, Nov 6 – 7:30 PM\nSaturday\, Nov 7 – 7:30 PM\nSunday\, Nov 8 – 2:00 PM\nRuntime: ~75 min including a 20-minute intermission \nTickets: $40 – $75\nTickets available on our website WWW.CRBDANCE.COM \nFor wheelchair accessible seating or group ticket sale questions please email: tickets@chicagorepertoryballet.com

SUMMARY:Another Medea by Aaron Mark
DESCRIPTION:The scarily charming Marcus Sharp recounts his fixation on Jason\, a wealthy doctor and the Medea myth that consumes them both. As confession gives way to obsession\, ancient mythology threatens to collide with a bloody reality. Another Medea plunges into the dark seduction of true crime and psychological horror\, blurring the lines between fiction\, adaptation\, and truth. \n“This is such an amazing piece of theater. I was personally moved beyond words at how vividly the prose was woven into a story… Schooler is such a remarkable presence. He invites you on a journey and you fully follow him down every twist\, turn\, and rabbit hole to the conclusion…” – Plays with Jon and Wendy \nPreviously produced in 2025 as part of the IndyFringe Festival\, American Lives Theatre is thrilled to bring this haunting one-man-show to Chicago audiences. Directed by Jacob David Lang\, starring Lukas Schooler\, produced by American Lives Theatre. Performing at the Bramble Arts Loft from November 5 – November 15.
