Since its debut in 1992\, Dance for Life has raised more than $8 million and presented more than 50 Chicago-based professional dance companies. An additional beneficiary of Dance for Life is AIDS Foundation Chicago. \nFor this special anniversary performance\, the lineup includes prominent Chicago dance companies and celebrated Chicago choreographers: Ballet 5:8\, Chicago Dance Crash\, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater\, Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater\, Giordano Dance Chicago\, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago\, The Joffrey Ballet\, Robyn Mineko Williams and Artists\, Trinity Irish Dance Company\, and Visceral Dance Chicago. Also on the program is Red\, Black & White by Jeremy Plummer and Harrison McEldowney\, a returning work featuring dancers from throughout the Chicago community. \nChoreographer Randy Duncan is creating a world premiere finale set to music by Ira Antelis with Chicago-area dancers from the participating companies and beyond\, as he has for most of the past 35 years. Kingsbury St. \nThe Last Word is the ONLY craft cocktail progression paired with a screenplay. The story is based on Chartreuse\, a real-life liqueur that sells millions of bottles every year\, but only two people in the world know how to make it. When Mike finds one dying in the woods and is given the only known copy of the recipe\, he has to decide whether to return it to the monastery that keeps it safe or die trying. Audiences may experience a high-action comedy script complete with lights\, sound\, music and other fun surprises throughout the night\, including four cocktails crafted specifically for each act of the show. Finally\, at The Last Word\, there is only one rule: No one knows what will happen tonight. Content warning: flashing lights\, loud sounds\, profanity and depictions of violence. \nThe performance schedule is Thursday\, May 28 at 7 p.m.\, followed by Friday\, June 26\, Friday\, July 31 and Friday\, August 28 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices are $50 for both general admission and the drink package\, which includes four specialty cocktails and $20 for general admission tickets without the cocktail experience. Walsh insisted that the bar owners remove any coverings on the windows of the bars so the cops could observe what was going on inside. This insistence of observation recalls what Michel Foucault called “panopticonism\,” a way that the state exerts control by ensuring that everyone knows they can be observed at any time.
