DESCRIPTION:Join Windy City Performing Arts and the Windy City Chamber Quire to celebrate Trans Day of Remembrance with a secular service.\n\n\n\nJoin Windy City Performing Arts and the Windy City Chamber Quire at the Trans Day of Remembrance Service. \nThe service will bring our community together to memorialize the members of the Trans community that have been lost to violence over the last year. We come together to grieve and bear witness through our acts of remembrance but also to stand with our trans siblings in the call for justice. \nThe service will be led by members of WCPA and musically by the Windy City Chamber Quire\, Artistic Director Dr. Christopher Owen\, and Associate Artistic Director\, Ligia Pucci. \nFree will offering will be collected to fund a commission from a trans composer. Your donations will help make a trans voice be heard in perpetuity through their music.

DESCRIPTION:Transgender Day of Remembrance – Candlelight Vigil & Memorial Walk \nHosted by the Second City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence\n\n\n\nJoin us as we honor the lives of our Trans siblings whose light was taken too soon.\nOn Transgender Day of Remembrance\, we gather not only to mourn\, but to bear witness\, to uplift community\, and to recommit ourselves to the sacred work of justice\, compassion\, and visibility.\n\n\n\n Our Tradition Continues\nFollowing the beautiful ritual established last year\, we will begin with a brief memorial service inside the Center on Halsted. We will share blessings—including the candle blessing preserved in our archives by the Candlewickes—along with words of reflection\, remembrance\, and hope.\n\n\n\nAfter the service\, we will move outside for a candlelight vigil\, walking together in a slow\, respectful loop along Halsted—southbound\, then northbound—illuminating the night with intention\, presence\, and love.\n\n\n\n Details\n Location: Center on Halsted\n Meet-up: 6:45pm–7:00pm inside the Center\n Blessings Begin: Shortly after 7:00pm\n Vigil Walk: Immediately following the memorial service\n\n\n\nEveryone is welcome—Sisters\, Guards\, community members\, loved ones\, and allies—to help us hold space\, speak names\, and shine light against violence and erasure.\n\n\n\nLet us walk together.
