DESCRIPTION:The Reunion Project\, the alliance of HIV long-term survivors\, will be hosting our next two-day community convening themed Together We Stand\, Forever We Thrive. This peer-led convening will occur Friday and Saturday\, October 24 and 25 at Kasbeer Hall\, Loyola University\, 25 Pearson Street in Chicago\, IL. \nActivities on both days will be held between 9am-5pm ET with sessions and community discussions addressing the health\, wellness\, and employment concerns of all individuals living and aging with HIV in the Chicago area. \nDay one\, Friday\, October 24\, will be an employment forum for long-term HIV survivors interested in discussions\, information\, services\, and resources to consider options for employment or self-employment. Sessions will explore interactions of work earnings and public benefits\, strategies and experiences of people living with HIV related to employment\, key programs and resources to consider utilizing\, and opportunities to talk one-on-one with representatives from vital statewide Illinois and Chicago programs and resources\, and connections with other people living with HIV considering options for work. \nDay two\, Saturday\, October 25\, will connect HIV long-term survivors through story-telling and informative workshops. Attendees will learn how to live and age well with HIV. The day will feature a mix of facilitated discussions\, presentations\, and networking opportunities\, all aimed at addressing the unique needs of long-term survivors and individuals aging with HIV in Chicago\, Illinois. We will also hear from attendees what the needs are for HIV long-term survivors in their area. \nBoth events will be held from 9am-5pm CT.\nThe event is free\, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
