He hasn’t finished a painting in years and has no new ideas. When a mysterious actress named Marilyn Monroe (no\, not that Marilyn Monroe) stumbles into his life\, she sends him down an epic path of madness\, murder\, betrayal and the desperate pursuit of fame\, sex and beauty. Andy Warhol presents: The Cocaine Play is a 100% fake story about 100% real people that spans three decades and asks how far one is willing to go for the chance at superstardom. \nThe performance schedule is Mondays\, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. with no Friday or Saturday evening performances on July 3 and July 4. DESCRIPTION:Oil Lamp Theater presents The Last Five Years\, written and composed by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Christina Ramirez\, June 5 – July 5\, at Oil Lamp Theater\, 1723 Glenview Road. \nThe Last Five Years debuted at Northlight Theatre in 2001 and returns to the North Shore after runs on Broadway\, Off-Broadway\, the West End and\, most recently\, a concert version at Radio City Music Hall with Tony\, Grammy and Emmy Award winner Ben Platt and Golden Globe and NBR winner Rachel Zegler. Jason Robert Brown’s musical masterpiece The Last Five Years is a widely beloved show and the Drama Desk Award-winner for Outstanding Music\, taking audiences on the romantic rollercoaster of Jamie and Cathy as they fall in… and out of love over the last five years. Told from each individual’s perspective – one chronologically and one backwards – audiences will be swept into the unique storytelling and find an anti-love story full of humor and heart. \nThe cast of The Last Five Years includes Abraham Deitz-Green (he/him\, Jamie); Lili Galluzzo (she/they\, Cathy); Eli Blanks (he/him\, Jamie U/S) and Kaitie Bonds (she/her\, Cathy U/S). \nThe performance schedule is Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. with additional Wednesday performances Wednesday\, June 10 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; Wednesday June 17 at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday\, June 24 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.; and Wednesday July 1 at 7:30 p.m. There are no performances on Saturday July 4. The couple struggles to plant their own roots and comes to realize growing on dead land may be a bigger challenge than expected. Will a dying Earth leave them deserted? \nThe Deserted cast includes Macaria Chaparro Martinez (she/they\, Jodie); Hannah McCauley (she/her\, Emma); Emma Mansfield (she/they\, Neighbor); Shenise Danyel (she/her\, Cam) and Dontaye Albert (he/him\, Hiker). \nThe performance schedule is Thursdays – Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3:30 p.m. with a total running time of two hours including one intermission. DESCRIPTION:CHICAGO — This spring\, Edgewater community center 6311arts will present its May Exhibition\, a multi-faceted showcase running May 16 through July 4\, 2026\, with an opening reception on Saturday\, May 16 from 6–9 p.m. \nDesigned as both an exhibition and a gathering point for multiple strands of Chicago’s creative community\, the May Exhibition brings together work by established local artists\, emerging student makers\, and artists working within inclusive educational settings. \nQueue — Brad Gibbs\nThe center’s main gallery will feature Queue\, a presentation of works by Chicago artist Brad Gibbs\, whose mixed-media paintings combine abstraction\, layered texture\, and vivid figurative suggestion. \nArt on the Edge — Austin Special Chicago\nAlso featured is Art on the Edge\, a group presentation from Austin Special Chicago\, a program serving adults with developmental disabilities through arts-centered enrichment and community engagement. Five artists from the program\, working under the guidance of educator Edwige Massart\, will present work that underscores 6311arts’ commitment to accessibility\, expression\, and broad participation in the arts. \nAmerican Surrealism — DePaul Artist Coalition\nContinuing 6311arts’ investment in nurturing emerging local talent\, American Surrealism will present an end-of-year showcase by fifteen artists from the newly formed DePaul Artist Coalition\, a student-run organization dedicated to building community and visibility for young artists at a pivotal stage in their creative development. \nEntrance Installation — Piloto\nAnchoring the exhibition at the center’s entrance will be a life-size sculpture by Piloto\, whose sculptural practice merges mythic imagery\, found materials\, and social consciousness.
